I am a total foodie! I love food and I really enjoy cooking but I don't always have the time. I don't however do the whole diet thing. I ascribe to the philosophy, Everything in moderation.
Balance by bistroMD is a meal plan started by a bariatric doctor. It is not a weight loss service but you can lose weight on it. You can order from their wide array of menus. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Chef prepared. As little or as much as you want. Plus they have gluten free, diabetic, low carb, and low sodium specialty diet options!
They have lamb stew, meatballs, beef and potatoes, pork tenderloin, fritattas, muffins. So many choices. Please keep in mind these are healthy meals, they are between the 200-400 calorie range. If you are looking for foods smothered in gravy, fat, sugar, salt and all of what makes bad foods taste so good this is not the thing for you.
This can become a full replacement meal plan for you so if you hate to cook becuase all meals come fully prepared. You would never have to go the grocery store again.
Reviews are mixed but I think thats because if you are not used to lower calorie meals it takes some time to adjust. For me, I would use this plan as a good lunch and snack option. I take my lunch to work with me and if all I had to do was take it with me in the morning and heat it up when I get to work thats awesome. There's no prep, I don't need to add anything and I don't have to wonder if it is full of sodium or other stuff that are microwave dinners because chefs are preparing these meals to be specifically healthy with fresh ingredients.
So you can give them a try and see what you think.
