Etsy is number 1 on this list because this is where I got my dress. I wasn't focused so much on a designer but the overall look of the dress. If you have a vision and you are really good at taking your own measurements you can find your perfect dress here. But do your homework and read the comments and reviews. That will help you find a vendor you can trust.
They are next on my list because they have a great retro, vintage vibe that I love and they had lace when most places didn't. Their dresses also don't break the bank. While vintage and retro they are not traditional and are a fav of modern brides, retro wedding theme brides, and courthouse brides.
On a budget but want a designer gown? As long as you don't mind it being pre-owned, The RealReal is the first place to look. They take great care to authenticate the items they have so you can be rest assured that the dress is real. Featuring Pnina Tornai, Pronovias, Monique Lhullier, Vera Wang and others.
Nearly Newlywed is like The RealReal of wedding dresses. Its a marketplace where brides can come to get a designer gown for less and newly married women get to sell their dresses and recoup some of the money they spent on them. It also makes for a great dress story if you are into that sort of thing.
I chose Gilt because its one of my favorite sample sale websites/apps. They tend to carry more high-end items and their sales are really good. It was one of the first places I looked to get a bargain on my gown. Now, they don't sell wedding dresses per se but if you are a little less traditional or just are looking for a white dress you can find some gems here. They do have a wedding shop sale that they run in the spring/summer but you don't have to limit yourself to that. Just know this is a sample sale, items sell out fast so be ready to pull the trigger.
