I am one of those people who is not good at self-care and I know I'm not alone.
Sharon Martin of Happily Imperfect with Sharon Martin, LCSW over at Psych Central gives some great tips for self-care in her post
11 Fall Self-Care Activities for October and November
While she lists 11 activities that you can partake in my top three takeaways were:
Asking for help, Keeping a gratitude journal and Baking!
I love to bake, I make sweet treats all year round but especially during this time of year. It takes me to a happy place. Who knew that was self-care?
Additionally, I find that I am happiest when I adopt an attitude of gratitude and journaling that is a great opportunity to not only see what you have but to reflect on how far you have come. It's just setting aside the time to do so.
But asking for help is by far the hardest one. Its the one I struggle with the most because I think I'm superwoman and can do it all. I'm learning though to ask for help or to just say no.
So give Sharon's post a read for more self-care activities. It quick but packed with good information. Additionally, you can leave her a comment or subscribe to her blog.
And my lovelies, don't get burned out this holiday season.
