Summer Pop-Up on a Sunday

Jul 15, 2019 0 comments
Happy Monday!

I was a busy bee the past few days cleaning and organizing so on Sunday I took a break and went to the We Are Women Owned Summer Pop-up.

I love a good pop-up! Today is the last day of the pop-up hosted by We Are Women Owned at Artist & Fleas. Every brand is women owned from sustainable & ethical fashion to clean beauty and wellness, even tea! Yes, I said tea, shoutout to Alexandra Winbush (@thealexandrawinbush), I can’t wait to try my Pomegranate Ginger tea. Plus, free Mochi (@mymomochiicecream)! More on the blog tomorrow. . . . Shop women owned, support women owned. Just another Sunday in NYC. . . #popupshop #wearewomenowned #nyclife #supportwomenowned #cleanbeauty #healthandwellness #sustainablefashion #ethicalfashion #sundayfunday #blogger #fashionblogger #styleblogger #nycfashionblogger #nycstyleblogger #bloggerstyle #bloggerfashion #blackgirlsblog #blackgirlblogger #blackgirlsblogtoo #fashionconnery #nycblogger #fashion #fashionista #subscribe #style #shopaholic #shopaholicscloset #shopdeescloset

This is my second We Are Women Owned pop-up and this time I got to meet the owner and organizer Lisa. She was so sweet.

The Pop-Up hosted 15 women owned brands at Artist & Flea, setup in a circle. I came for the free Mochi but fell in love with some fabulous brands. Check them out below!

As soon as I walked through the door the first brand was Alexandra Winbush and her Self-care brand. Her table featured candles with corresponding tea pairings and a playlist. The set is $32 (candle and tea), separately the candles are $25 and the tea is $10 for 25 bags.

Next brand that drew me as I walked the room was Arteaga. The summer collection was absolutely beautiful and the fabrics are ethically sourced and felt amazing. This green dress (pictured) was just gorgeous. The owner was wearing it and it was on sale and I wanted it but at $200+ my husband would have killed me. Lol.

Next, I stopped by Small Packages. A curated care package service. One for every occasion, in different sizes and price points starting at $35; they even hand write the note for you on the letterpress note card in the care package. They currently only ship in the US but they are working on international shipping.

Then I visited with Carolina, the owner of Descalza which means barefoot in Spanish. Based in North Carolina, All items are made to order and made of hand woven fabric. The Carolina was such a sweetheart and if I could've I would've taken the whole rack. Lol.
Finally, I stopped by Pretty Well Beauty, a clean beauty brand. The owner Jazmin handpicks and tests all the products. They are all natural, ethical and sustainable. Even down to the packaging. She was engaging and knows her stuff. Don't let the price scare you, the products contain no fillers so they will last you for months, maybe even a year. A little goes a long way. Definitely check them out!

Finally, before I left I had to snag some tea from Alexandra. It was calling me. She was so nice and recommended the Pomegranate Ginger tea to me. It's popular and it was the last one, super excited to try it.

Update: I had the tea iced and it is DELICIOUS!

I love discovering new brands, so make sure you check them out. How was your weekend?

Happy Shopping!
