Hey my fabulous fashionistas!
Happy Wednesday!
Real Talk: How you doing?
I don't know how much of the news you read but it has been rough for families out there. Millions unemployed or underemployed, losing health care and life insurance, bills still due inspite of having no job.
Needless to say, You have been top of mind.
Helping families. Changing lives.
I talk lots of fashion here, obviously, but it's also a life blog and a lot of life is happening right now and it's coming at us fast and hitting us hard. Which is why I shared
places to make some quick cash when COVID first hit.
But I don't think anyone thought it would be this bad or last this long and change the landscape in the world as we know it. And it has caused me, and I'm sure many of you, to evaluate life in a very stark way.
During this time of reflection t, what I've discovered is, I want to be a resource for you.
I'm an accountant by trade but I don't talk a lot of dollars and cents here outside of how to find quality fashion at bargain prices. But this moment has proven that financial literacy is needed.
It is possible to be a fashionista on a budget and save to make your dreams come true. It is possible to pay off debt and build wealth and protect your family and the generations to come in the future no matter how much money you have.
So I've done three things to help my followers in this journey.
First, I've created a
Finance page. (It's in the navigation under
Life) where you will find resources and articles around financial concepts. It's a little bare right now but it will get more robust.
Second, I'm committed to sharing more finance related content on the blog itself in simple to understand terms because some of these other blogs use a lot of fancy words to explain things that aren't that complicated. Plus, I won't make you feel bad for buying that pair of shoes you saw in the window, I'll show you how to fit it into your budget instead.
Third, gain access to me! Need help building a budget? Have questions about 401Ks, life insurance coverage, how to save? I got you. I want you and your family to live your best life. Send me a note here in the comments or in chat or through the Fashionable Finance button in the sidebar.
My goal is to provide a little hope in the midst of all this crazy.
But don't worry the fashion will still be here too.
Your Friend,
The Fabulous Shoe Maven
